The official Gekijou site has announced a new release date for the movie today following postponement due to Covid-19 — 17 July 2020. However, theatrical release will only be in the following small theatres in Japan:

- Yamagata: Movie On Yamagata
- Chiba: Kinema Junpo Theatre
- Tokyo: 1) Uplink Kichijoji, 2) Eurospace, 3) Ikebukuro Cinema Rosa (from 31 July)
- Kanagawa: Jack & Betty
- Gunma: Cinematheque Takasaki (from 1 August)
- Nagano: iCity Cinema
- Shizuoka: Cine City Zart
- Aichi: Fushimi Million Theatre
- Kyoto: Uplink Kyoto
- Osaka: Cine nouveau
- Hyogo: Cinepipia
- Hiroshima: Cinema Mode
- Fukuoka: KBC Cinema
- Kumamoto: Denkikan
- Miyazaki: Miyazaki Kinemakan
- Okinawa: Cinema Palette
On the same day, worldwide exclusive streaming on Amazon Prime Video will start.
